A few months ago, on a drizzly London evening after work, Rob & I headed to the airport to take a trip to (slightly) warmer climes in Italy. We’d worked most of the Christmas period but still had annual leave to take and we’d gone online to look at the cheapest flights in January, choosing Rome from the list. It had passed the test of being a) not a long flight, b) warmer than London and c) a city full of history and GOOD FOOD.
On the flight we got to talking about all of our favourite places we’d visited in our three year relationship. Our love of exploring and travelling had been one of the reasons that we’d ended up together and I got to thinking, why don’t we document some of this?
We have a great balance when planning a trip (thankfully!) While I like to research all of the cool restaurants and make lists of the local cuisine that we HAVE to try, Rob diligently plans out what we shouldn’t miss in terms of historical or cultural hot spots. We like to explore, but we also like long leisurely lunches and soaking up the atmosphere of the place we find ourselves in.
We are very much city people, but also love hiking and being somewhere where we can escape from reality for a while surrounded in nature. This blog will follow our travels and give us a place where we can pass on our top tips! Welcome to The Travel Slugs ^.^
